The Pakistan Urogynaecologist Association organized an international hybrid conference on the 20th & 21st of March 2021 in Karachi, Pakistan. The theme of the conference was “evolving new trends in urogynaecology”. This conference was endorsed by IUGA and was attended by a huge number of participants in person & virtually from various cities of Pakistan. The in person attendance was more than 200 participants, while the virtual attendance was more than 300 people. There were 14 national and 5 international speakers. The renowned international Faculty delivered talks in different sessions during both days of the conference. We had Madam Rajamaheshwari President of URSSI, Chennai, Dr. Ranee Thakar past president of IUGA, Dr. Lynsey Haward vice president IUGA from New Zealand, Dr. Augustina Vendramini from Argentina and Dr. Clara Shek from Sydney. Every speaker elaborated their topics efficiently and interacted with the audience in the question & answer session.
Inaugural Session began with the Pakistani national anthem followed by recitation from the Holy Quran for guidance. Presidential address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Pushpa Srichand, she highlighted the future plan regarding the expansion of teaching and training program of urogynaecology for young budding Gynaecologist. She admired the dedicated hard work of the organizing team especially General Secretary PUGA Prof. Shagufta Tahir, because of her efforts in organizing such a highly specialized academic activity successfully. The inaugural theme lecture was delivered by Prof. Rajameshwari from Chennai India, it was well attended by both; virtual and in person participants. Prof. Rajameshwari delivered three talks on very interesting topics which were highly appreciated by the audience. Dr. Ranee Thakar past president of IUGA spared her time and delivered a talk on Obstetrical injuries, diagnosis & management, Dr. Augustina vendramini, Dr. lynsey Hayward & Clara shek, presented very informative talks. The Panelist in every session gave very valuable comments and initiated a fruitful discussion amongst the audience and speakers & added their expert opinions. Debate on three very important topics was conducted as Point & Counter Point, so that difference of opinion can be sorted out and consensus on best practices made. The conference ended on 21st March 2021, national Speakers discussed very practical topics. At the end of both days of scientific programs closing ceremony was celebrated, Cake cutting for Pakistan day was organized by pharmaceutical companies. The ceremony was concluded by paying thanks to the speakers, participants, organizing team & by thanking Pharmaceuticals who helped in organization of this learning activity.
